Best new restaurant in Newcastle in 2018, EASY
Still a 6/6?
🌯 I mean, someone needs to really tackle burritos in Newcastle .
Miss you, Staiths South Bank 💔
Update: The Staiths Food Market returns early 2019.
Let’s keep it together, Newcastle.
Angeethi in Gateshead/Low Fell (NE9 5HY) is one of those restaurants that I always hear high praise about, but always forget to visit, despite living just around the corner. That changed when I was recently invited to a one-off “Spice & Sommelier” evening, aiming to to prove that wine and curry can live together in harmony. **Update – Southbank Grill closed in 2014, and now houses River Beat**
Brilliant views of afternoon tea over Newcastle.

** O de V is now CLOSED and Southbank Grill is in its place (yet to visit) ** Disappointingly bland. We heard good things about O de V from friends and family; if not from the foodie press, and it’s location made for a perfect hideaway from this Saturday evening’s rain on the Quayside. From the outside, O de V (NE8 2BJ) is fairly inconspicuous, and someone really needs to knock down the old Baja and Buffalo Joe’s and start again,…
Scores much higher than a SIX.
Flying up the glass elevator at the front of the Baltic (NE8 3BA) takes you to one of the highest and greatest views in Newcastle – not a bad place to try some of the best food the city has to offer.
