Sad news again as two more restaurants close on Newcastle’s Quayside this month.

Both Rumpoli’s and Café Bistro Buee have closed their doors for the last time.

While Rumpoli’s still operates it’s sister branch, Uno’s downstairs, we always thought Rumpoli’s was a slightly nicer place, whereas Buee was one of the only places to get real home-cooked French food in the city.

Situated metres apart from each other, and not long after the closure of Oliviana’s and Kublai Khan – the Quayside (Queen Street aside) is looking a little grim for places to eat…

I write about Newcastle's latest and greatest (and some not so great) independent restaurants, bars, cafes, and regional food. Lover of pizza, seafood, and imperial stouts - not all at once.
